2004 Stilo Cup Car

Prepared and ready to mount a serious challenge in the
Fiat Rally Cup 2005

This car has been profesionally converted from Italian Stilo Cup to BRC spec by NVJ developments (formerly Peter Vaughan engineering), including full preparation and extensive strengthening for British Gravel conditions.

Conversion includes:

  • Replacement of standard aluminium sump guard with light weight armour plated guard and strengthened mounting points .
  • Standard externally mounted fuel and brake lines re-routed internally in 'aeroquip'.
  • Strengthening of rear axle to avoid common camber problems due to bending
  • Double skinned tank guard to protect fuel tank from stone damage
  • Under-side skidded with light weight material to protect vulnerable brake calipers and rear bumper
  • Primitive front camber adjustment mechanism redesigned and replaced
  • Fitted with inserts as recomended by Bilsteins
  • Engine bay enclosed to protect vulnerable parts from stone / gravel damage.
  • Electrical components sealed to avoid water ingress
  • Redesigned battery holder fitted to prevent movement and 'shorting'
  • Engine mountings modified to avoid bolt shearing problems
  • Gearbox components modified to prevent excessive wear caused by debris from worn plates.
  • New modified detente system fitted to avoid gearbox selector problems
  • Selector remote also modified for more positive gearchange
  • Drive shafts modified to prevent collapse of couplings
  • Large track control arm bushes replaced with rose joints (the difference is remarkable)
  • Extensively tested tarmac set up - in our opinion a better suited to BRC tarmac rounds, and cheaper than the recomended settings
  • Internally, we have fitted a removable trip meter, intercom, helmet holders, hands-free phone kit, vhf antennae and radio holder.
  • Handbrake system is aeroquipped to avoid pipe breakage
  • User friendly spare wheel holder for quick wheel changes, and optimized corner weights
  • Roll cage problems common to all the 2004 cars have been profesionally rectified, without removal of roof (pictures available)

Prepared in Fiat Yellow livery, the car was used by Fiat and others in 2004 to promote the Stilo and the Wales Rally GB, and on Fiat's own web site because of its immaculate presentation. Also featured in Auto Italia and Track and Race Car magazines, and the Wales Rally GB programme.

This totally original car has never received more than superficial damage, with dented panels always replaced with original Fiat parts.

  • Set of Tarmac tyres and wheels
  • Forestry tyres, including testing tyres
  • Lamp pod (bought for £500) rewired and modified to make perfect fit
  • Spare rear axle
  • New diff plates
  • Usual exhaust, suspension, cables, belts, bearings etc

Recce car: Left hand drive Ford Fiesta Si, 16v zetec. Has sump and tank guards, spax suspension and trip meter sensors. Suitable for all types of recce on BRC

Service Barge: Transit Turbo Diesel. Long wheel base, high top with additional seats, central heating, work bench, secure tool storage and extra security locks. Immaculate through out

Trailer: Galvanized 4 wheel tilt-type trailer
